More jobs and more IT services are on the way for Virginia Beach residents with the expansion and move of Eastern Data, Inc. The company is moving its headquarters from 563 Central Drive to 2569 Horse Pasture Road—relocating from a 6,250-square-foot site, to a two-story facility with 15,000 square feet.

"While Eastern Data was founded 35 years ago, right here in the City of Virginia Beach, the last decade has been a time of significant growth for the company as an IT support provider to the small and midsize business community, both locally and nationally," said Donny Reyes, Chief Operating Officer. "We like to think of our team as an ever-growing family—even now that we are approaching more than 50 employees, and we are honored that the city we call home has committed to continue its support of our anticipated growth."

Eastern Data of Virginia, Inc. has provided services in project design, IP Telephony, hardware, software, printer repair & sales, networking, as well as help desk support. The company's efforts concentrate on healthcare, retail, manufacturing, real estate and insurance industries.

The new site will house 53 full-time employees (43 existing and 10 new employees) in varied specialties and an average annual salary of $45,000. Their total capital investment is $287,500 that consist of real estate, furniture and fixtures, and machinery and tools. The Virginia Beach Development Authority awarded an Economic Development Investment Program grant in the amount of $20,000 based on job creation.

"Our Virginia Beach workforce is rich with talent," said Taylor Adams, Deputy City Manager & Director of Economic Development. "Businesses that take advantage of the Economic Development Incentive Program create lasting opportunities that encourage our workers to stay local and generate economic gains that move the entire community forward."
