All of our workshops are free to attend. Our goal is to make the workshop series accessible to anyone who may be interested in learning, collaborating with community members, and/or growing their entrepreneurial skills.​


INCubatoredu Pitch Night 2022

The Entrepreneurship and Business Academy at Kempsville High School will proudly present Pitch Night on May 10th. Governor Glenn Youngkin will be sitting alongside an all-star panel of local entrepreneur judges. Doors open at 4 p.m. for elevator pitches and table displays. In partnership with the Hampton Roads Workforce Council and Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development, VWU is offering the following professional development workshops at no cost to you.

Information Technology Project Management (April 9 - June 4, 2022)

Saturdays from 8 a.m.- noon
Virginia Wesleyan University (Clarke Hall, Room 125)

Participants will gain skills essential to managing projects within the scope of information technology. IT project managers plan and manage IT projects at every phase, including defining project goals; determining the systems and technology needed; creating detailed schedules; building a budget; identifying staffing needs; and hiring and managing the project staff. Once completed, students will know the fundamentals of project management and how they apply to the field of IT. Register here.

Microsoft Excel Certification Training (April 11 - June 1, 2022)

Mondays/Wednesdays from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
The HIVE (4636 Columbus Street, Virginia Beach)

Participants will learn to create, modify, and format Microsoft Excel worksheets, perform calculations, and print workbooks. Teaches formulas and formatting techniques, use of lists, illustrations, and charts. Also showcases Excel’s advanced features, such as pivot tables, audit worksheets, data tools, macros, and collaboration methods. Register here.


Supply Chain Management A-Z: Operations and Logistics Basic (April 11 - June 1, 2022)

Mondays/Wednesdays from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

This workshop will provide the basics of supply chain management, operations and logistics, and customer service. Participants will learn transportation and logistics, how to manage a shipment, and how to manage export and import documents. Topics include shipping processes, document management for exporting and importing products, and transportation costs. Register here.

Essentials of Google Office Products (April 12 - June 2, 2022)

Google Workspace provides access to Gmail and the collection of Google office products. Learn how to use Google Workspace products to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. This workshop will cover the basics and essentials needed to use Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. A Gmail account is required for this workshop. Register here.

Small Business Owners: Share Your Perspectives!

The Virginia SBDC Network is partnering with the Federal Reserve Bank to conduct a Small Business Credit Survey. The findings will help them determine needs, gaps, and opportunities to support business owners in accessing capital. The survey closed on November 19. Results will be published in early 2022.
