The Virginia Beach Oceanfront is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the East Coast ​as more than 6 million visitors stay overnight there annually.

The Oceanfront Resort area district is home to a growing concentration of retail and corporate office space. The 31Ocean development, with a newly completed 59,000-square-foot office building and 50,000 square feet of retail space, is in the district, along with two Class A office towers anchored by Towne Bank.

The area also is home to the Virginia Beach Convention Center, a state-of-the-art 525,125 gross square foot facility with over 150,000 square feet of column-free exhibit space, nearly 29,000 square feet of meeting space, and over 31,000 square feet ballroom space​ (one of the largest on the east coast), and 2,209 free parking spaces.
